#Egg from Spanish movie

Silly and weird humor at its best. This spanish spoof movie focuses on some spanish and mexican movies such as The orphanage, the others, pan's labyrinth and many others. The actors were pretty good and all in all it turned out to be quite an amusing spoof, ah, and there's also Dr. Nielsen, whose presence guarantees immediately a seal of approval.

#Ladybug cake from A fantastic fear of everything

This story is as funny, original and colourful as the ladybug at the children's party that is shown in one of the scenes. Jack is a writer, he is afraid he'll get murdered and his fascination by victorian serial killers has finally won over his sanity. He thinks he'll get poisoned so he inspects milk bottles, he fears someone will enter his apartment to kill him so he holds a kitchen knife at all times. A simple trip to the laundry will be a nightmarish experience for Jack in which his painful childhood memories will reemerge. A nice and somewhat dark humor flick that is quite original.

#Fries from Compliance

Prank calls can amuse, irritate or be completely irrelevant to people. Some find the humor in them to be juveline, others find it acceptable but in the end most prank calls are quite inconsequential, most of them, I guess, some aren't and some prank calls are not really prank calls. This story is about a call made to a fast food restaurant by a man claiming to be a police officer, the manager of the restaurant believed him and obeyed all of his orders. She obeyed even though he asked for terrible, awful and sometimes completely surreal demands. It's even more incredible to know that this movie is based on a true story, kind of a like a reenactment really. It's very uncomfortable and makes the viewer a bit angry but it's a successful experiment that shows how people obey without questioning. I guess critical thinking and common sense was not on the menu and they also ran out of bacon.

#Apples from Viskningar och rop (Cries and whispers)

Apples, grapes and other unidentified fruits add variety of color to this movie that is saturated with red. Red walls and...blood. Red is a powerful color  represents passion, lust and other intense emotions. The story appears to be quite straight forward but the relationships between the characters are complex and disturbing. Agnes is terribly ill and her two sisters decide to visit her so they can be with her but they cannot connect with her, the only person with whom Agnes can feel safe and relieved is with Anna, her beloved maid. The atmosphere is bleak, gut wrenching and quite depressive. The human soul can be quite strange, indeed. The fruit is perhaps the only healthy element in this unique and haunting film.

#Snow cones from Blades of Glory

Jimmy MacElroy is a talented ice skater who can show elegance dressed as a glam rock peacock while skating, he has a lot of chances to win the gold in the olympics until of course he gets into a really violent fight with his arch-enemy, the somewhat bruttish and extremely hilarious Chazz Michael Michaels so they both get banned of the competition. Later, they will join forces and become best buddies. Jimmy MacElroy also gets to fall in love and eat snow cones with a very lovely lady. Oh, to fall in love and have a brain freeze.
